After a stint as a fashion model, she decided to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album entitled "Dua Lipa" in 2017. It reached the third spot in the U.K. albums chart and featured eight singles including the U.K. number one single New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Her family tree can be tracked back to the Kosovo town of Peja. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. She is a sister to Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa's musical influences came from her father who is the singer-guitarist of Kosovan Rock band Oda. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
