When she was initially inspired by the shadows she saw on the grass of trees, she worked for months to create a method that did not depict an object as a two-dimensional picture. The chosen subject transforms into an image of itself. This happens especially for living things or those that will perish for example, like fruits or even humans. The style that Alexa paints is ephemeral and only the photos of her work remain. Painting and photography are closely connected to form an unflattering two-dimensional space that is trompe-l'oeil. In certain places, the third dimensions can be observed, such as close to the eyes or in the hair. Meade will sometimes integrate her painting into the surrounding three-dimensional environment and allows them to interact within their own world. In this way, she has removed the borders between photography, painting and performing.
